Why files never leave your device
No upload, no waiting
Other subtitle sites push your file through a server queue. Subtitle Doctor does the work with JavaScript in your tab — a whole season converts before their upload bar would finish.
Actually private
Pre-release material, client work, NDA content: nothing is transmitted anywhere. You can load this page, go offline, and everything still works.
No limits, no watermarks
No 2 MB caps, no filename branding, no accounts. There is no server cost to ration, so nothing is rationed.
Frequently asked questions
Which subtitle formats are supported?
SRT (SubRip), VTT (WebVTT), SBV (YouTube), ASS/SSA (SubStation Alpha) as inputs; SRT, VTT, SBV and plain-text transcripts as outputs. Timing tools (shift, sync) keep ASS styling fully intact. Broadcast formats (SCC, STL, TTML) are on the roadmap.
Is it really free? What's the catch?
Free, no account, no limits. Because processing happens in your browser, serving this site costs almost nothing — there is no expensive server bill to recover from you.
My subtitles start in sync but drift later — which tool do I need?
That's drift (usually a framerate mismatch), not a constant delay. Use Sync Subtitles — it corrects drift with two anchor points or a framerate preset. A plain shift only fixes files that are off by the same amount everywhere.
