About Subtitle Doctor

Subtitle Doctor exists because fixing a subtitle file should take seconds, not a signup form, an upload queue and a watermark. Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser: the file is read locally with JavaScript, transformed locally, and downloaded locally.

That architecture is why there are no file size limits, no batch caps and no accounts — there is no server doing the work, so there is nothing to ration. It is also why your files stay private: nothing is transmitted, logged or stored anywhere.

The roadmap follows the jobs people actually struggle with: automatic audio-based sync, extracting subtitles from MKV/MP4 files without uploading them, OCR of DVD and Blu-ray image subtitles, and a fix-common-errors pass — all client-side.
